Black Cod, also known as Sablefish, is one of Alaska’s most prized seafood offerings. Often called “butterfish” for its silky texture, Black Cod is celebrated for its exceptionally high omega-3 content, delicate white flakes, and rich, buttery flavor with subtle natural sweetness.
Its high concentration of healthy fats gives Black Cod its signature luscious texture while also making it one of the most forgiving fish to cook. Whether roasted, broiled, grilled, smoked, or prepared with a classic miso glaze, Black Cod is remarkably foolproof. Its richness helps prevent drying out, making it difficult to overcook and approachable for home cooks of all experience levels.
Harvested between mid-March and early November using longline (hook-and-line) methods, this fish is sourced through one of the most selective and premium harvest practices available. Each fish is professionally hand-trimmed, filleted, de-boned, portioned into convenient 6–8 oz cuts, vacuum sealed, and flash frozen immediately to preserve peak freshness, flavor, and texture.
This 10 lb share includes approximately 22 individually packaged portions, making it an excellent way to stock your freezer with one of Alaska’s richest, healthiest, and most luxurious wild fish.
When properly frozen, Black Cod maintains premium quality for up to two years.

All orders will ship via Fed-Ex on Mondays and Tuesdays using appropriate amounts of dry ice, properly packed in a reusable cooler and box. You will receive information prior to transit with an estimated arrival, so you can anticipate and track your shipment.
